One Man, Seven fools, a riotous race from cradle to grave!

Inspired by Shakespeare’s timeless poetry and the wild spirit of Commedia dell’Arte,
Imp! (One Man, Many Parts) is a daring new physical theatre work that reimagines the 'All the world’s a Stage' speech as a vivid, clown-fuelled journey through life’s comedy and chaos, tantrums and triumphs.
We follow a man called Jack as each stage of his life is embodied by a different Commedia character — from the infantile Zanni to the naive Lover, the vain Capitano to the pompous Dottore, from the miserly Pantalone to…mere oblivion. Playful, poignant, and profoundly human this fast-paced, visually striking show is a hilarious and moving investigation of masculinity, identity, and what it means to grow, love, rage, reflect, and eventually return to dust.

Workshop Testimonials
"Scott facilitated a workshop to introduce Commedia dell' Arte to our Year 10 and 11 students, and he was so incredible and well liked that we hired him again the following week! Scott ran two workshops with our drama students, teaching them the physical attributes of the stock characters but also helped introduce the idea of 'play' into our drama classroom. His approachable and energetic nature encouraged the kids to join in the playfulness of the class and give everything a go. This was an amazing experience for our student actors, who got the chance to be loud, energetic and creative. With each character they explored it was clear that they peeled off their inhibitions and truly enjoyed exploring how far they could take movements of the personas being portrayed. We look forward to inviting Scott back for future incursions!"

"Scott was an engaging facilitator who got the students up and moving from the get go. His clear demonstration of physicality and his range of engaging activities had the students performing short lazzi in no time.
His work with our senior students on physical improvisation lead to some really interesting discoveries for our VCE ensembles – and got them out of their heads. He’s attention to detail and very effective side coaching gave the students permission to explore and create some really beautiful work in a short space of time."
